Jenn Thomas, Founder
Hi! I’m Jenn Thomas, founder of Take Your Own Trip LLC. My love of travel was ignited in college when I studied abroad in Australia and New Zealand. It opened my eyes to just how large and diverse the world is and how many unique people and places there are to see. Since then, I have visited 32 countries, and my travel style has evolved as much as my life around it. Travel has always been my passion, and these last 2 years of limited travel have only convinced me of how vital travel is to personal growth and mental health.
Capitalizing on my extensive personal travel experience as well as 15 years of managing complex global projects in the corporate world, I have decided to make travel my business. I joined My Vacation Lady as an independent affiliate. My Vacation Lady is a boutique agency with over 20 years of experience sending clients to the destinations of their dreams. I am a member of the Travel Leaders Network, which is one of the largest sellers of travel and allows me to offer clients a full range of options and services. These affiliations allow me to tap into a global network of experts worldwide while still providing you with a personalized custom service.
Travel Style
My travel style is high energy and I like a mixture of culture, natural beauty and adventure. Walking is still my favorite method to explore. I lived in NYC for 12 years which taught me how to pick out the path less travelled in a busy environment. Avoiding crowds and finding the hidden gems are my expertise. I love shoulder seasons and destinations right before they become mainstream popular.
My husband and I perfected the 72 hour Europe trip pre-kids with limited vacation days and still use that model when we can get away. We now have 2 young daughters who are 4 and 5 and they have brought a new dimension to traveling. Traveling with children requires more coordination and planning, but it also introduces opportunities to take a step back and enjoy the little things. It is such a rewarding way to make family memories.
I have never regretted taking a trip, even if it doesn’t go as planned, you always come back with something new - a new friend, a new favorite place or a new destination to put on your bucket list.
